ABOUT
Alex has always had a passion for art at a young age and after graduating High School, she decided to continue making art whether it was technical or not. After transferring to the U, she found herself in graphic design and loved the newness it embodied. She was able to create a plethora of things, which she didn’t expect to be able to do. Being able to manipulate space and different design techniques is demonstrated throughout much of her work, but ultimately she loves designing and creating new things even if some of these things are unexpectedly breaking boundaries.

FLY '90s Culture
ABSTRACT
Alexandra Walker's FLY '90s Culture project delves into the culture of '90s Hip-Hop. Coming from a biracial family, Alex grew up learning two different perspectives of the world – a black and a white world. Thinking about her past and how she grew up inspired her to delve into her father’s side of the world. He loved all kinds of music, but the one genre that really pushed her to learn more about was Hip/Hop. FLY offers insight into how powerful this generation was to the world and to her in the aspect of music, fashion, and lifestyle. Not only did she push towards nostalgia, she also wanted to create a project that was inspired by today - modernism. This project is intended to create an informative and entertaining space that illuminates the correlation and unity between music, culture, and graphic design.

POST COLLEGE PLANS
MOVing EAST OR WEST COST FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN
DEPARTURE
After graduation, Alex plans to keep learning and experiencing areas of graphic design. She plans on moving either to the west or east coast with her boyfriend after finding an internship, which will help her figure out her path with graphic design. She ultimately loves designing and creating things, so she will continue to do so whether she works for brands or works on projects of her own.
