ABOUT
Emily has always been confident about wanting to be some sort of designer. After studying at the U, she has become particularly passionate about brand design, UX, and illustration. Her love for these forms of expression is matched by her interest in different countries and the designs they produce, a fascination sparked by her favorite quarantine game, Geoguessr. Through her art and exploration, Emily delves into the diversity of global design, weaving together narratives that transcend borders and inspire creativity.

THESIS EXHIBITION
Designs: Worldwide Wayfinding
ABSTRACT
How do you navigate your daily life? Whether you're walking, running, biking, or driving, you rely on traffic signs and maps to guide you to your destination safely. Given that they are integral in our daily lives, it’s crucial that road signs work with humans, not against them. Emily’s project “Designs: Worldwide Wayfinding” dives into the thoughtful design choices behind road signage and why they can differ in color, typography, shape, and language across the world. This project aims to make designers and non-designers alike recognize the thought process that goes into road sign design and its impact on road comprehension and safety.
