THESIS EXHIBITION
Un/Veiled
ABSTRACT
Un/Veiled responds to the complex issue of relationship abuse in South Asian marriages. Through a series of three guided journals disguised as menstrual products, it aims to empower the victims of relationship abuse to take action while maintaining their safety. Each guided journal is catered to a distinct need faced by someone experiencing relationship abuse. The first aims to help them understand their situation, the second provides a platform for incident tracking, and the third provides a secure place to compile resources. The design of these products pays homage to the South Asian culture of the audience they are targeted to. Un/Veiled explores the intersection of discreet design, cultural sensitivity, and advocacy to create resources that respond to the complex needs of South Asian victims of relationship abuse.
