Shea Hinshon's "Room for Food" thesis project seeks to explore the correlation between food waste and the interior design of restaurants. Key elements of a restaurant space - that is, light, color, and music, play into one's emotional state, which give way to their eating patterns. Viewers of this exhibit will be invited to immerse themselves into two contrasting life-size mockups of restaurant spaces, one that triggers postive, sustainable, and more mindful eating and one that does the exact opposite. With a continuous rise in food waste and eating out at restuarants, Shea's thesis project promises to leave viewers with better insight into the environments they're eating in and how they might approach eating out in the future.
